The Meridian's massage or therapy treatment goes beyond the standard relaxing or deep tissue massage to locate the problem source and work towards healing. This is accomplished through advanced techniques as listed below. After carefully consulting with you, our client, we may decide to use any one or more of the techniques we are adept at. The techniques and methods we employ are tools in our toolbox, all of which are useful in restoring your good health. When it comes to your massage therapy session, the technique(s) we choose depend upon your goals, your problem areas, and your purpose for the visit.
A visit to Meridian Healing Center should be seen as your time for self-care via healing, relaxing, and re-discovering your body. At Meridian, we not only massage our clients, but we also take the time to assess each client's body to check for any imbalances. Then, we utilize various therapies to assist the body to reach its full potential. The end result is powerful! You will leave the session with the soothing effect of the massage, the knowledge of what progress was made, and the awareness of new ease of movement post session.
* Please note shower and changing rooms are available for use before or after massage and workouts. Entire facility is wheelchair accessible.

Our Massage Therapy Services Include:
Acupressure –
Acupressure is and ancient specialized technique used to relieve pain, discomfort, stiffness, muscular spasms, physical strain, and other muscular issues. An acupressure massage is beneficial in opening up blockages, increasing blood flow and flexibility, and easing stiffness and soreness.
Deep Tissue Massage -
Deep Tissue Massage utilizes deep pressure upon the muscles to release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of your muscle tissue including the muscle, tendons, and the muscle fascia (the protective layer surrounding your muscles, joints, and tendons). It is especially beneficial to people with old injuries or chronic stiffness, soreness, or limited motion. An old injury can often leave adhesions and scar tissue, which a deep tissue massage will help to release.
Manual Therapies –
Manual Therapy is a clinical approach that uses a hands-on technique of manipulation and mobilization to ease and regulate pain, increase range of motion, improve circulation, relieve muscle spasms, and reduce inflammation. It is ideal for chronic sufferers of low back pain, neck pain, muscle soreness and stiffness, migraines and headaches, and joint dysfunction. The three main manual therapies used at Meridian are:
Muscle Energy - This technique uses special positioning and your own muscle contractions to bring your body back into balance.
Jones Point - This gentle technique uses easy movement to put you in a position of comfort which naturally allows your muscles to reset.
Chapmen Reflex Points - This technique stimulates into healing the small discrete bumps that occur under the skin as a response to pain and dysfunction.
Jones Points, Strain, Counter-strain -
This manual therapy technique is ideal for reducing chronic muscle soreness and/or acute muscle spasm in the body. The advantage of this technique is that it is extremely gentle on the client. By placing the tender point of the body in the position of greatest comfort, the body can reset and the client is able to experience pain relief and tension release. This technique is highly effective for sufferers of headaches, fibromyalgia, sciatica, tendinitis, chronic muscle soreness, symatic joint dysfunction and acute muscle spasms.
Sports Massage –
A sports massage is geared towards athletes of all kinds. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a national caliber athlete, a sports massage from Meridian will benefit you. As an athlete, you are susceptible to injury and illness because of increased activity, and a sports massage will keep you on the top of your game. A sports massage will reduce fatigue, improve endurance, prevent injury and maintain flexibility. Checkout our specialized pre-event and post-event massages.
Prenatal & Postnatal Massage –
A massage during pregnancy can be a great way to reduce stress, encourage healthy circulation, aid in sleep, reduce strain on joints and muscles, and promote overall health and wellness. At Meridian Healing Center, we take special care to ensure our pregnant patients are comfortable at all times. After all, your health and your baby’s health are our number one concern.
Swedish Massage -
The long, gliding strokes of the Swedish Massage are perfect for relaxing the entire body. However, the therapeutic benefits are deeper than just relaxation. A Swedish Massage will improve circulation, ease tension, increase flexibility, decrease toxins in the muscles, reduce inflammation and fatigue, increase immunity, and relieve muscle soreness.
Muscle Energy –
The Muscle Energy Technique is a treatment used by physical therapists and massage therapists to increase muscular range of motion, reduce pain, and increase muscle tone. Muscle Energy is an active massage that requires the patient’s participation. By actively guiding the patient’s muscles in a controlled force/counterforce manner, the muscles are stimulated towards healing.
Deep Myofascial Release -
The Myofascia is the tissue that surrounds and protects muscles, connective tissue, and bones. It is a tough, flexible tissue that in a healthy state protects and defines muscle tissue. If it is damaged or traumatized in any way, tightness can occur that lead to problems including headaches, muscle spasms, pain, injury, illness, and reduced range of motion. Deep Myfoscial Release works to correct any problems and release the surrounding tissues thus restoring healthy muscle function.
Essential Oils -
We offer a myriad of essential oils to our clients during massage therapies. Our three most popular oils are Energy Oil, Stress Relief Oil and Muscle & Joint Pain Oil. Essential oils are an ancient medical practice that not only heal and refresh us, but they also stimulate our senses and bring us memories of times gone by. For example, the smell of fresh cut grass reminds of us lazy summer days which bring feelings of warmth and happiness. Adding essential oils to your massage can stimulate not only your senses, but positive emotions as well. Ask your therapist if essential oils are right for your condition.
